The Megaware KeelGuard is suitable for fiberglass and aluminum boats, with a standard 5-inch width for ample protection. It is generally mounted 4 to 6 inches above the waterline on the bow, extending 2 to 3 feet or more beyond the lowest point of the keel. Not recommended for kayaks, canoes, or some personal watercraft due to hull material or complex designs. Also not advised if your trailer design rests the boat's weight directly on the keel without modification to rollers or bunks.
