This Barton Marine Boomstrut (44010) provides upward lift to support the boom on sailboats up to 20 ft. (6m) in length with a maximum boom tip weight of 14 lbs. (6.3kg). By working in conjunction with an existing kicker or rope vang, this system maintains sail shape in light winds and prevents the boom from dropping when the sail is lowered or the topping lift is released.
