The Blue Sea Systems 285-Series 70 Amp Thermal Circuit Breaker is a weather-resistant, panel-mount unit designed for marine electrical systems. This Type III circuit breaker combines switching and circuit breaker functionality into one device, featuring a visible reset lever to clearly indicate an open condition.
- Drop-in replacement for 185-Series circuit breakers.
- Ignition protected for safe installation on gasoline-powered boats (meets SAE J1171).
- Trip-free design prevents the breaker from being held closed after a fault.
- Maximum voltage rating: 48V DC.
- Interrupt rating: 3,000A at 48V DC (achieved using SAE J1625).
- Operating temperature range: -40°C to 85°C.
- Terminal stud size: M6 (accepts 1/4" ring terminals); recommended torque: 50 in-lb.
- Mounting holes accept 1/4" (M6) screws.
- Weight: 0.33 lb.
Note: Do not use for direct control of high inrush loads, such as motor starting. Regulatory note: This product includes a California Proposition 65 warning regarding potential exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP).
