The McMurdo BreaktHRU Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) is a compact, reliable mechanism designed for use with Category 1 EPIRBs. Using exclusive pyrotechnic technology, the unit automatically releases the EPIRB when submerged in water to a depth of less than 13 feet, allowing it to float free.
