The Octopus 12 in. Stroke Remote Linear Drive provides an efficient way to automate rudder control on boats equipped with mechanical steering systems. This unit integrates a reversing pump and a marine hydraulic cylinder into a single assembly that mounts directly to the rudder tiller-arm or quadrant. When the autopilot is engaged, a solenoid valve locks the cylinder, allowing the pump to manage steering signals; when disengaged, the cylinder moves freely with the rudder. The actuator features a translucent oil reservoir for easy fluid level monitoring and is shipped pre-filled with oil for installation without additional plumbing.
