The PSS PRO Shaft Seal is a high-durability mechanical face seal designed for demanding marine environments. It features reinforced silicone bellows, a secondary shaft retention collar, and 316 stainless steel hose clamps with rolled, non-perforated edges to provide superior resistance to corrosion and high pressure.

The seal functions by maintaining constant contact between a rotating stainless steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. This design compensates for axial movement caused by propeller thrust and allows for minor misalignment and vibration absorption. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two internal O-rings that do not experience wear during operation.
