The R & D Marine Flexible Shaft Coupling is designed to protect a boat's drivetrain by reducing noise and vibration. This coupling fits between the transmission output flange and the shaft coupling, helping to compensate for temporary misalignment caused by boat structure flexing or engine movement on vibration isolation mounts.
Constructed with a resilient, contoured polyurethane disc and backed by two steel compression straps, this coupling provides a fail-safe design that maintains drive in both forward and reverse. The polyurethane disc acts as a shock absorber for gear changes or propeller impact, protecting the transmission from costly damage.
