The Ronstan Series 55 Orbit Ratchet Block features both automatic and manual engagement modes, allowing sailors to tailor the ratchet performance to their specific needs. In auto mode, the ratchet engages under load and releases when the tension is eased, facilitating smooth gybes and rapid sheet management. The manual mode allows the ratchet to be switched on or off as desired, providing consistent control for mainsheet systems.
This high-performance block utilizes Generation 2 sheave geometry with 12 straight-resistance gripping faces to provide up to 20:1 holding power while minimizing rope wear. It is engineered with a swivel shackle head for unlimited rotation and is suitable for use on dinghies, sportsboats, and small keel boats up to 8m (26').
